Driving from Washington, DC to Windsor, Ontario for this wedding was already an adventure—but the real story began once the music started. The celebration kicked off with Mehndi evening where the groom wanted evening to reflect about 80% Bollywood and 20% Nepali music. Every crowd has its own personality, and this one introduced me to a completely different energy and vibe than I’m used to. Watching the dance floor, reading the room, and adapting in real time is one of the things I enjoy most as a DJ. Some songs instantly lit up the room, while others didn’t connect the way I expected, so I switched things up quickly to keep the energy flowing. From “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” and “Deewangi Deewangi” to “Kala Chasma,” the dance floor stayed alive, and “Gallan Goodiyaan” brought the night to an unforgettable finish. One of my favorite moments wasn’t even about DJing—it was the groom’s heartfelt surprise performance for his future in-law as he asked for their daughter’s hand in marriage.
