Continuing south to Yukon (across the street from NAS JAX) we catch CSX coal train #001 (with a fuel tender) in the hole waiting for a southbounder. Heading south again, we see Amtrack's northbound Auto Train and the Silver Star in Doctor's Inlet. At dawn it's the CSX #001 daily southbound heading for the Palatka Generating Station only to return north in mid-afternoon. In Russell, Amtrack's eastbound (heading south actually) Sunset Limited takes the siding for a meet with the Silver Meteor. A northbound CSX freight has Amtrack Auto Train cars in the consist while it sits in the hole waiting for the southbound Amtrak Silver Star. The siding is 3 miles long. Green Cove Springs has a restored ACL station and displays. We catch a few trains stomping through town and then watch an industrial operation.
