Saddar Cantt. Lahore | Laal Kurti | Saddar Bazar | #LahorePropertyScape Saddar is an Arabic word which means “Chest” in English language and also refer to “Main” and “Central” when used in terms of location. When it comes to the Residential and commercial locality of Saddar Lahore, we find that at least in Pakistan, there are as much as 7 similarly named areas in the cities of Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot, Peshawar, Jhang. In addition to that two other areas share same names in the aforementioned cities i.e. “Laal Kurti” and “RA Bazar”. These locations areas are located beside the Cantonments and were developed by the British during the British Raaj as markets for meeting the shopping needs of the Army Officers and Jawans. In present days, Cantonments have evolved into upscale residential and commercial localities, whereas, the Saddars are still quite native and “Desi” in culture and taste. In this video I have show cased the Saddar and Saddar Bazar of Lahore and explored its various residential blocks also known as Mohallas, like Bengali Mohalla, Shuttar Mohalla etc. I hope you will like the video.
