Mott Macdonald Development Director, Paul Maliphant, talks us through the terrible tragedy that took place in Aberfan in the 1960s. An avalanche of tipped coal mixed with water slid down a hill into Aberfan killing 144 people. Many important engineering lessons have been learned in the wake of the tragedy.
