In April last year, I introduced my viewers to GARP — Growth at Reasonable Prices. This followup video assesses the GARP investing strategy's real-world performance & the lessons learned. A key insight is that equity-based GARP strategies are inherently volatile — capable of spectacular gains in one phase and deep drawdowns in another To illustrate long-term potential, I ran a 10-year backtest (2015–2025) on Trendlyne using my GARP query. Results: a CAGR of 19.7%, versus 11.9% for the Nifty 500 — a clear 7.8% annual outperformance. That said, yearly results were lumpy: from +53% in FY17 to –34% in FY20, the ride was anything but smooth. This volatility underscores a core truth: patience and persistence often matter more than the formula itself ⚠️ Disclaimer: This video is for educational purposes only.
