Weekend Magazine: The Rocks 1963
THIS EPISODE OF WEEKEND MAGAZINE REVEALS THE PROPOSED RE-DEVELOPMENT OF THE ROCKS AREA. THE OLD BUILDINGS ON THE QUAYSIDE OF THE ROCKS AREA WHICH HAD REMAINED UNTOUCHED WERE TO BE SWEPT AWAY BY A PLAN OF RE-DEVELOPMENT TO LEVEL & REBUILD THE AREA AS A COMPLEX OF MODERN OFFICES & RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS. HOWEVER, THE GREEN BANS OF THE 1970s SAVED MUCH OF THE ORIGINAL ROCKS AREA.
