Goshers vs Kakum: Creators demand access, while the park insists visitors follow the rules
The debate over content creation at Kakum National Park has sparked nationwide discussion. Travel and lifestyle page Goshers says the park's restrictions on filming and photography discourage creators from promoting Ghana's tourism destinations. Park officials and local tourism advocates, however, insist that Kakum is a protected wildlife reserve with established procedures that visitors must follow, especially for commercial filming and online broadcasting. The controversy raises a bigger question: Should tourism sites make it easier for creators to showcase destinations, or should strict regulations remain in place to protect the environment and operations?
