Biotech Connector: Tracking Cancer’s Every Move – Liquid Biopsy in Diagnostics and Beyond
Speakers at the Aug. 28, 2025 Biotech Connector presented on innovations with liquid biopsies. Liquid biopsies are usually blood tests that detect circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), DNA fragments that tumor cells shed into the bloodstream. Recent advancements are making liquid biopsies an increasingly useful tool for both patient care and research. Kaitlin Victor, MS, associate scientist, Labcorp Oncology, presented a talk titled "Liquid Biopsy in the Cancer Diagnostics and Surveillance." Amanda Peach, MS, research associate, Molecular Characterization Laboratory, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, presented a talk titled "Liquid Biopsies in Support of NCI Precision Medicine Initiatives." Lorenzo Rinaldi, Ph.D., head of Translational Science, Scientific Alliance Manager, Delfi Diagnostics, presented a talk titled "DELFI Tumor Fraction: Disruptive liquid biopsy approach in monitoring therapeutics."
