This patient at Patton State Hospital reports that staff have been taking advantage of law functioning mentally ill patients by having them pick up other patients dirty laundry rather than do it themselves. Patient 0128 states that the staff were previously paying these patients coffee to perform this task, however, at this point patients are performing this task without even receiving any sort of compensation, and are being exposed to great danger in the COVID-19 environment. Patient 0128 reported also seeing an HSS staff member direct a patient to pick up other patients soiled laundry last week. Finally, He also reported that as of this morning Patton State Hospital's staff on his unit continue to not wear their masks consistently endangering the lives of the patients they care for, in violation of Governor Gavin Newsom's directive that all essential works should care for their fellow Californians and wear a mask. (Update July 6,2020: Patton State Hospital is currently run by Janine Wallace, Executive Director, who was previously the Hospital Administrator at Coalinga State Hospital. In her previous position, she covered up and ignored massive corruption, abuse, systemic, and operational deficiencies. dshabuse.org has been reaching out to a variety of entities about her conduct while at Coalinga for several years. Now we are investigating conditions at DSH-Patton and discovering similar conduct on the part of Janine Wallace. The Senate Rules Committee made a big mistake when it confirmed Pam Ahlin and Stephanie Clendenin on August 26,2015, Director positions for DSH. What is now going on inside of Patton and other facilities reflects the leadership from the Director and Deputy Director of State Hospitals. Some of the individuals who dshabuse.org contacted, and who have ignored cries for help are as follows: Senator Holly Mitchell, Senator Richard Pan, Senator Anna Caballero, Senator Nielsen, Senate Sergeants, Lisa Tillman, Drew Soderborg, Angela Bartosik(Chief Deputy Public Defender for San Diego County), Michael Freedman(PC2684 Attorney), Michael Bien(PC2684 Attorney), Jeremiah Wattenburger(Senate Sergeants), Sean Whalen(Senate Sergeants), Katrina Rodriguez(Senate Sergeants), Gavin Newsom(Governor of California) and others making them aware of the fact that dshabuse.org was requesting to conference with them on the issues and evidence it had uncovered. As of today, these entities have been nonresponsive. As of July 6,2020, the DSH Public Records Office is refusing to provide real-time information about what DSH policy is regarding patients handling other patients dirty laundry. Public Records Act request #R200254, is pending and dshabuse.org has been told a response as to what DSH policy is may take several weeks or months.) Please call the YouTube channel (DSHABUSE) reporting hotline, to report abuse within the California Department of State Hospitals. We are committed to being a platform for the voice of suffering human beings (patients and staff) who have been ignored for years. We will consider your request to be interviewed for this channel, even anonymously, if the information you provide is credible and verifiable. (833)836-0948
