4 Profound Ways My Life Improved On Less Lithium

🎤 I've been living with bipolar disorder since 1993 and taking lithium to manage this mental illness since 1995. In Episode 40 of Walking & Talking Bipolar, I share the profound changes that I am experiencing on a lower dose of psychiatric medication. I still take lithium daily, but a lower medication burden is making my life easier and my mental state at present remains stable. Four years ago the side effects of long term lithium use were chronic and debilitating for me. They included: migraines 2-3 times per week, exhaustion, sleeping 12-14 hours a day, severe brain fog, memory loss, hyperthyroidism, stiff and weak muscles, emotional dullness (yet also intense anger and "cut glass" (tremours) in my body), and I could only work 10%, if at all. After discovering the therapeutic ketogenic diet, and practising The Ishayas' Ascension as taught by the Brightpath (a powerful form of meditation and spiritual path), I have been able to lower my lithium dose slowly over 4 years from 1120 mg to 200 mg per day. In this video I share the changes I have experienced from this lowering of medication. ⸻ Learn more about Oliver's work here: 📚 Oliver's book, Befriending Bipolar: https://amzn.to/3FXTP7A 📕 Oliver's book, The Broker Who Broke Free: https://amzn.to/3KQdgSK ✍️ Oliver's Bipolar Blog: https://oliverseligman.blogspot.com 🗞️ SIGN UP for Oliver's newsletter on his website: https://oliverseligman.com 🧘‍♂️ To Find out more about The Ishayas' Ascension meditation that Oliver practises and teaches: https://thebrightpath.com https://ascension.no ⸻ Chapters: 0:00 Slowly Tapering Lithium 1:14 I Feel So Much More 4:49 I Have Missed Out On So Much 6:56 This Is So Confusing 9:01 My Personality's Changing 10:53 Summary ⸻ ✋ Disclaimer: This channel aims to educate and share lived experiences of bipolar disorder.
