Praggnanandhaa — Champion of Norway Chess 2026!!

Featured is an instructive chess game between Praggnanandhaa R and Vincent Keymer from Round 10 of Norway Chess 2026. Arising out of the Queen's Gambit Declined, we observe a quiet continuation with 4.e3 and a generally non-confrontational opening. The position sharpens after 14.b5, where a key minor-piece exchange involving the dark-squared bishops soon occurs. The end result is objectively equal, however it is practically better for Praggnanandhaa due to his knight's superiority over Keymer's light-squared bishop. With this final-round win, Praggnanandhaa made it four consecutive classical victories to close out the event, finishing first overall and becoming the Champion of Norway Chess 2026. #NorwayChess #Praggnanandhaa #VincentKeymer Image of players in video, and thumbnail of Praggnanandhaa by Michal Walusza / Norway Chess I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8.
