MANZONI IDEE presenta GIUSEPPE DI GIACOMO in L'ECLISSI DELLA TRAMA - Teatro Manzoni Roma

FROM MARCEL PROUST TO JAMES JOYCE AND VIRGINIA WOOLF - The Eclipse of the Plot is the title of the new event with Professor Giuseppe di Giacomo at the Teatro Manzoni in Rome for the series of lectures THE JOURNEY IN THE NOVEL. Di Giacomo guides the audience through a fascinating journey dedicated to that moment in the transition from Proust to Joyce and Woolf when the traditional plot dissolves to make room for the flow of consciousness and pure subjectivity. The chronological order of events gives way to an architecture of epiphanies, mnemonic fragments, and sensory perceptions, where the character's interiority becomes the only true theater of action. The external event thus loses relevance, becoming a simple pretext to explore the depths of time and the complex nuances of the human psyche. Giuseppe Di Giacomo focuses on the relationship between aesthetics and literature, as well as the relationship between the visual arts and other disciplines. Also at the Teatro Manzoni in recent seasons, Giuseppe Di Giacomo has presented the series "Matrimoni della Filosofia," a philosophical journey through the arts, from music to literature, from painting to cinema. His publications include Richard Wagner: a philosophical guide (Carocci, 2021) and La bellezza abbandonata (The Abandoned Beauty, 2021). Directed by Alessandro Vaccari, "Scrittori in scena" (Writers on Stage) and "Manzoni Ideas," based on an idea by Carlo Alighiero, are the cultural offerings of the Teatro Manzoni in Rome, a historic theater in the Prati district and a new hub for readers and authors.
