Expert Wendela finds clues in the way the stone is set. The octagonal shape of the setting for an oval stone is also typical of Russian jewelry. Furthermore, the brooch was made in the 1840s. However, the 585 white gold pin is not as old, having been added later – presumably in the second half of the 20th century.
