This Road
Up-tempo Modern Rock with Subtle Blues Undertones... Adapted from my poem 'The Road'. (Please subscribe if you enjoy my content.) *Genre:* *Up-tempo Modern Rock with Subtle Blues Undertones* *Instrumentation:* A driving, upbeat drumbeat, a rhythmic blues-infused bassline, and crunchy modern rock guitars that open up into lush, ringing chords during the chorus. --- Song Structure & Lyric Sheet Intro (Fast, energetic modern rock tempo with a steady, bluesy guitar riff) Verse 1 (Driving rhythm kicks in; call-and-response between two vocalists) I look inside in search of answers, and there I find your name, *(Vocal 2:) Find your name... A smile lingers as I trace your lips and fan the flame. My hand trembles, wrought with the intensity of it all, A moment where my heart surrenders and my soul feels the call. Verse 2 (Rhythm builds with a catchy, upbeat bassline) Words are shared in laughter while the easy moments pass, Dreams flow like a gentle breeze across the morning grass. Seduced by an exchange of pure emotion in the air, So surreal, it feels like a dream, but reality is there. --- Repeatable Chorus (Repeats) (Explosion of full band, heavy harmonies, and polyphonic vocal overlap) Oh, this journey has just begun, Yet it feels like a lifetime walked as one! We've always been on this road, just never realized, It would lead to each other right before our eyes. The strength of one becomes two, the strength of two becomes whole, You and I become us, walking hand in soul! --- Verse 3 (Tempo halves briefly into a stomping, blues-rock groove) I close my eyes and there you are, wandering my mind, A beauty residing in me that is one of a kind. Unique, independent, and so full of life, I want to hold you close, beyond all trouble and strife. Verse 4 (Guitars swell, leading into the bridge) You've looked at me and seen me for all that I am, Comfort resides in this knowledge, safe within your hand. Acceptance of all that remains to be had, My completion is nearing, I'm so glad! --- Bridge (Dueling blues-rock guitar solos intertwined with layered, echoing vocals ) This road of life is immense... (Echo:) So immense... We take each other's hands and commence... Peace lives in this togetherness... Yes, the road leads on! --- Final Chorus (Repeats & Fades) (Full instrumental power, soaring polyphonic harmonies) Oh, this journey has just begun, Yet it feels like a lifetime walked as one! We've always been on this road, just never realized, It would lead to each other right before our eyes. The strength of one becomes two, the strength of two becomes whole, You and I become us, walking hand in soul! (Outro fading out) The road leads on... You and I become us, and the road leads on!
