After numerous attempts, it finally worked. I've been trying to cast a handprint for a few weeks now. First, I tried concrete, but that didn't work. I used alginate to make the mold. That works perfectly. The thing is the casting material. With plaster/casting material, you get much more detail in your handprint. You have to be careful when removing the alginate from the hardened impression!
