Kishi Bashi: "Bright Whites," Live On Soundcheck
For the full interview and performance: http://soundcheck.wnyc.org/2013/feb/0... K. Ishibashi, who records under the name Kishi Bashi, is a violinist. He's also a composer, beat boxer, singer and more. He used to be the go-to guy when acts like Of Montreal and Regina Spektor needed a string player -- until he struck out on his own. His solo performances are great looping feats of one-man-band-manship. But he brought a small group to the studio to bring his melodic chamber pop to life.
