Tropical Pacific Firing Up as a Burgeoning El Niño Emerges
The tropical Pacific is heating up and showing real signs of life as we move deeper into July. Tropical depressions are developing, with the potential for named tropical storms and possibly a hurricane as activity begins to ramp up. We’ll also take a close look at the large and still-growing Elephant Fire in northeastern California, along with coastal flooding concerns, rapidly changing humidity levels, and the possibility of more active weather across the West. Plus, we’ll visit Gorman and Calabasas for a little California history, including name origins and a few interesting local facts, all mixed in with today’s Nature Snacks.
