How to Ski Tour | #6 Crampons | Tutorial | DYNAFIT
Schorsch Nickaes, DYNAFIT Product Director and Mountain Guide shows how to start ski touring. In this video he gives information about the usage of crampons. Ski crampons are used when ski skins don’t offer enough resistance on the snow’s surface. Schorsch shows how to attach the crampons: //1. To install crampons with a binding, you can either first step out of the skis or attach them even while wearing the skis. //2. Ski crampons should be pushed into the crampon slot on the toe piece in a vertical position. //3. Lock the crampon securely so it is at the middle of the ski before it is folded down flat. Without using crampons, you drag your skis over the snow while walking. The technique with crampons differs a bit. You lift your a ski a little to get any forward. Otherwise, the teeth bite into the snow and you can´t move ahead. To detach the crampons, follow the above steps in reverse.
