A cardboard tube is a simple item that often remains after using rolls of foil, cling film, paper towels, or toilet paper. Usually, it gets thrown away, but in reality, it can be transformed into many useful and even beautiful objects. In the household, these tubes are very convenient. For example, they can be used to store wires and charging cables, keeping them untangled and always within reach. Tubes are also great for organizing brushes, pencils, or pens—especially if you place several of them in a box to create a simple organizer. If you cut the tube lengthwise and decorate it a bit, it can become a napkin holder or a gift packaging for a small present. Additionally, tubes can be used for planting seedlings: fill them with soil, plant seeds, and then transplant everything into the ground—the cardboard will decompose over time and won’t harm nature. But perhaps the most interesting aspect is creativity. From an ordinary tube, you can create an entire world of crafts: little animals, fairy tale characters, Christmas decorations, or holiday decor. It’s a great way to spend time with children or simply relax and unleash your imagination. I made a rooster that will be useful for festive decor at Easter. First, I cut the tube lengthwise and rolled the cardboard into a cone—this will be the base of the figure. I trimmed the edges. Next, I cut out details from cardboard: a comb, wings, and a tail, and added a small basket. Then came the painting. I used acrylic paints because they are bright, dry quickly, and adhere well to cardboard. You can choose any colors: classic bright ones or, on the contrary, soft pastel shades. Once the paint dried, I made holes at the bottom using a hole punch and threaded in legs made of thread. This way, the rooster turned out not only cute but also a bit "alive"—the legs move slightly, adding to its charm. In the end, I created a funny rooster that lifts the spirits and beautifully decorates the home for Easter. Sometimes the simplest things can turn into something amazing. All it takes is a little time, desire, and imagination—and an ordinary cardboard tube can become a small work of art.
