Rayman 2: The Great Escape (DC) - [EXTRA] The Downloadable Mini-games

My original upload dates from 2011, originally recorded on the late NullDC emulator. However, there were a few graphic glitches and the whole video quality quickly became dated with time as HD became standard. Flycast seems to currently deliver a higher visual accuracy to the game's real look. That's why I recorded again the downloadable mini-games video to feature a HD demonstration of the content. The original 2011 will be kept online in the playlist for archival/legacy purposes. =) Sega Dreamcast had the ability, when a modem was plugged in the console and connected to the internet, to access online content. One of the things it could do was to download content for compatible games, among them being Rayman 2: The Great Escape. If players connected the console online, they would be able to download three mini-games to the VMU and loading them with the game. The first mini-game is exclusive to the Dreamcast version. The goal is to collect points by shooting to the enemies, and preventing them (or Skulls) to reach Rayman's area where he flies around. Power-ups can be collected by shooting towards incoming plums. If the enemies/skulls reach Rayman's area three times, the game ends. The Grab Challenge originally appeared as a downloadable minigame for the Dreamcast version, as it shows the second mini-game. It was ported later to the PS2 version (Rayman Revolution). The only visible difference is Razorbeard's face appearing randomly in the green displays. The last mini-game is also available in the PC version with the name Menezis, but it is triggered there on the end of the credits by pressing any key.
