Cranky Commodore 64 - Born from a spare board - FrankenStone64!
This is the journey of reconstructing and repair what was once back in 2006 meant to be "just my spare board" for repairing my other Commodore 64's on stock for the past 20 years. It started out as larger, but just an repair job, of an NTSC version to PAL on a global change, while soldering back sockets and using what I had left of spare parts. Out a just a pile of loose parts, missing parts, broken plastic and stubbornness it showed every symptom ever known to the C64 faults out there, but the last remaining symptom had never been seen before. That one turned into a 1.5 year long headache investigation where evidentially with its last error finally revealed - the joke's on me!
