Jake Thistle -- Glory Days (Bruce Springsteen cover)

Story behind this one. Last night I got a message from someone in Canada that unfortunately lost a friend to cancer surrounded by friends as he listened to this song. She asked for the audio of an old version of Glory Days that I put up in 2018 so that they could use it for the services, because it was one of his favorite songs but my version had a different acoustic take that they liked for what they had planned. I thought since that version was so old, I'd do a new one so they could pick what worked best for them-- and since I was recording it, I thought I'd put it up for you guys. My original idea behind this arrangement was from after I'd gone to see Bruce Springsteen on Broadway. He didn't ever do this song there that I know of, but I wondered what a solo acoustic treatment there might have sounded like. The original version is kind of up and bouncy, but when I pictured the scene, I could see it with a sadder tone of looking back to avoid thinking of a rougher present, so I slowed it down and played it a little more melancholy to see how it would work. Anyway, I'm sure it won't be for everybody-- but here's a different sort of take on the classic Glory Days. Hope you like it.
