East Broad Top 16: Steam Returns Southbound “March To Saltillo” Milestone

On August 8th, 2025, steam locomotive N° 16 was returned to service on the East Broad Top Railroad after months of maintenance. In the evening, 16 would have the honor of pulling the first passenger train from Orbisonia station to the Southern Huntingdon County High School in Pogue, Pennsylvania. This marks a pinnacle in the FEBT’s “March to Saltillo” project, an ongoing rehabilitation of trackage into Saltillo and the communities between. Riding this momentous excursion were FEBT employees, volunteers, board members of the high school and other EBT contributors.
