In this video we discuss about why we are using crank bars in slab and beam, why because we in support there is hogging in the middle of the slab we have sagging, simply in the end of the support we have negative bending moment and middle of the beam we have positive bending moment, to resist that we have to reinforce by using steel bars or steel rod, By separated providing a rod means we need to spend more money for the steel. So, we bend a bar into a 45 degree angle, then we get a top rod and as well as bottom rod so we can handle hogging and sagging in a single bar.
