🌴🌸 What Blend of Fertilizer I Use For My Palm Trees & Ornamentals // Growing Tropical
I have been gardening in South Florida my entire life and have come to understand that while it has be challenging, it has also been very rewarding. South Florida's tropical climate cannot be overstated. We experience I abundant summer rainfall and humidity and enjoy a cooler, drier fall and winter. With some basic knowledge of what your dealing with in your South Florida garden, you can have a gorgeous landscape year round. Let's start with our sandy soils which is both a blessing and a curse. While sandy soil does drain well...especially after a heavy rain, it also doesn't hold moisture well when rain is scarce. Sandy soils also don't hold nutrients, making a good fertilizer necessary. The best way to start with a sandy soil is to amend it! Raking in some compost (cow manure) or shredded leaf mulch is a great start to increasing moisture and preventing soil leaching. Once this is achieved, using a fertilizer that is designed for your particular needs is the next step. With my tropical landscape, I use a fertilizer that not only meets the nutritional needs of my Palm Trees and ornamentals, but also one that continuously feeds.
