Around two months after the start of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, the decisive phase may be approaching. Kyiv is apparently attempting a breakthrough with the deployment of the 82nd Airborne Brigade. For this, Ukraine is also using Marder armored personnel carriers from Germany for the first time. Both sides have been engaged in fierce fighting for control of individual villages for weeks. After liberating the Ukrainian village of Urozhaihne on the front line, the Ukrainian army has now reportedly advanced further. The Ukrainian army was able to recapture the village after days of artillery bombardment, including with weapons supplied by the West. These weapons have a greater range and more precise striking capability. As a result, the Russian artillery was barely able to mount any counterattacks.
