Pourquoi je n’utilise pas de RAID sur mon NAS à 100 € #2

My old HP server was clean… and OpenMediaVault was installed. But for now, it wasn't really a NAS yet. My disks were separate, I had no shared storage space, and no protection in case of failure. In this second part: ✅ Replacing the power supply fan ✅ Configuring a static IP address ✅ Installing OMV-Extras ✅ Creating a pool with MergerFS ✅ Setting up SnapRAID ✅ Automating data synchronization and monitoring ✅ Creating an SMB network share ✅ Testing and optimizing throughput The goal? To group several disks of different capacities into a single storage space, while protecting my data without using traditional RAID. And of course, things didn't go as planned… At the time of testing, the throughput was disastrous. So, we had to find the cause before finally getting decent performance.
