Swiss Alps 100KM - DNF at my goal race

In August 2025, I was invited to run and document my experience at the 100KM race of the Swiss Alps Endurance Run. As my main goal of the year I was incredibly excited. I had trained all year for this event and felt like I was ready to perform. Unfortunately, my race ended early because of a bad ankle sprain. I would later find out that I had fully torn my ATFL ankle ligament. Despite this, I really enjoyed the time I spent with the local trail community and race organisation. Swiss Alps is a unique race in the European and global trail running scene. With passionate volunteers, excellent aid stations, stunning alpine terrain, allowances for pacers and varied events (short to ultra trail running distances, a vertical KM race and a hike-and-fly race) - the event combines the best of the European and American trail running scenes. I plan to come back and give the 100KM or 100 mile distance another shot, I know that this is a race I need to complete.
