Join our community at http://princeoftravel.com (enter your email) It can be hard to know where to begin with loyalty programs. There's so many of them out there – which types of points should you be focusing on? Most people simply go with whatever points are the "easiest" for them to collect, ending up simply doing things like swiping their loyalty card at the grocery store. But in order to come out ahead as a points collector, you need a well-developed strategy tailored to your travel goals, ideally by focusing on a few core points programs. In this video, we go over the three main categories of points programs (fixed-value currencies vs. flexible rewards vs. transferrable points), highlighting the pros and cons of each. We also talk in greater detail about what I'd consider to be the ideal "trifecta" of points programs for Canadians who want to travel the world in style – Aeroplan, Alaska Mileage Plan, and British Airways Avios.
