The Doctrine of the Mean: Zhong He, Sincerity, Timely Mean, Zisi, Four Books, Not Mediocre

The Doctrine of the Mean is often misread as "good enough" or fence-sitting — yet the opening says: before joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure emerge, that is zhong; when they emerge all in measure, that is he. Not mediocrity but proportion: a steady place before emotion fills you, each beat landing where it should.
