6L80 overhaul

This video covers the overhaul of the GM 6L80-/90 RWD transmission used in many Chevrolet and GMC RWD and 4WD vehicles. These transmissions are still offered in 2020 models and arrived on the scene in about 2007. In this video, I cover disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of the transmission along with measurements and some description along the way. You'll find in this video, I also vacuum check the valve body and pump assembly to see if there are any worn bores. Also, I installed a TransGo shift kit to address the common valve body and pump issues found in this popular transmission. This video is intended to teach a student or a technician that's new to automatic transmissions the overhaul and operation of this transmission.
