MASSA LUBRENSE – The call of the sea, the scent of tradition, and the pride of an entire community. The third edition of "La Tavola dei 300," the eagerly awaited food and wine festival organized by the Associazione Ristoratori Lubrensi (ARL), got off to a flying start. This year, the event transformed into a new and exciting "Coast to Coast Edition," a sea voyage designed to ideally unite the two maritime souls of the area. The opening evening, held in the splendid setting of the Marina della Lobra harbor, was a resounding success with both the public and attendees, confirming that food and wine are a true driving force for development and cohesion on the peninsula. Hosting the event, along with ARL President Francesco Gargiulo, was the new Mayor of Massa Lubrense, Lello Staiano. The mayor emphasized the absolute value of the synergy between the administration and restaurateurs in promoting the Lubrense coast, a unique coastal heritage that in this edition of "Coast to Coast" becomes the main stage for local culture. The event also featured distinguished guests from the national scene, including the renowned food and wine critic and television journalist Edoardo Raspelli, who has always been attentive to local identities and agricultural food excellence. It's impossible to describe these places without touching their deepest soul. The evening's atmosphere brought to mind the immortal verses of Francesco Saverio Mollo, the unforgettable Lubrense intellectual and poet who, in his celebrated 1969 book "'O Paese Mio," captured the authentic rural and maritime essence of Massa Lubrense with rare sensitivity. That same essence is found intact in the typical products celebrated by the Association's chefs: an ancient history passed down from generation to generation through the green gold of the DOP olive groves, the unmistakable scent of the lemon groves, and the age-old excellence of the cheesemaking tradition, from fiordilatte to the prized Provolone del Monaco. The Marina della Lobra was ablaze with warmth and music thanks to a vibrant soundtrack, including engaging live music and the rousing rhythms of the tarantella, treating guests to a magical night just steps from the waves. At the forefront of the tasting tables, a cornerstone of the association and ever-present with his infectious enthusiasm, was Mimmo De Gregorio of the "Lo Stuzzichino" restaurant, capable as always of embodying the welcoming spirit and culinary passion that make Massa's hospitality unique. The event, dedicated to solidarity and haute cuisine, continues for the final evening today, Wednesday, June 17th. The spotlight will shift to the charming fishing village of Marina di Puolo, where the exclusive and spectacular "Tavola dei 300" will take place: a 200-meter-long table set up directly on the water's edge. Sixty chefs from the Association will be at the stove, ready to delight guests (access is strictly by reservation) with a strongly distinctive menu that will conclude with the traditional Delizia al Limone and a grand fireworks display over the water.
