Easy Rclone Migration from Google Drive to OneDrive via PowerShell | Google Drive API Setup

🚀 Google Drive ➜ OneDrive migration using Rclone + PowerShell + Google Drive API. 1️⃣ Install Rclone winget install Rclone.Rclone ➡️ Installs Rclone on Windows. 2️⃣ Open setup rclone config ➡️ Creates and saves Google Drive / OneDrive connections. 3️⃣ Check Google Drive rclone lsd GoogleDrive: ➡️ Confirms Google Drive is connected. 4️⃣ Check OneDrive rclone lsd OneDrive: ➡️ Confirms OneDrive is connected. 5️⃣ Open GUI rclone gui ➡️ Opens the browser-based Rclone interface. ⚠️ GUI failed in my case, so I used PowerShell. 6️⃣ Enable UTF-8 for emoji/special folder names chcp 65001 [Console]::OutputEncoding = [System.Text.Encoding]::UTF8 $OutputEncoding = [System.Text.Encoding]::UTF8 ➡️ Prevents path issues with emojis and special characters. 7️⃣ Capture exact source folder name $folder = (rclone lsf GoogleDrive: --dirs-only | Where-Object { $_ -like '*Tech Videos*' } | Select-Object -First 1).TrimEnd('/') ➡️ Grabs the exact Google Drive folder name. 8️⃣ Show captured folder $folder ➡️ Displays the exact source folder path. 9️⃣ Verify source folder rclone lsd "GoogleDrive:$folder" ➡️ Checks the folder content before copying. 🔟 Start migration rclone copy "GoogleDrive:$folder/All IT-Technical Videos" "OneDrive:All IT-Technical Videos" --progress --create-empty-src-dirs ➡️ Copies the folder from Google Drive to OneDrive. ➡️ copy = keeps original files in Google Drive. ➡️ --progress = shows live transfer status. ➡️ --create-empty-src-dirs = recreates empty folders too. 1️⃣1️⃣ Verify size from OneDrive side rclone size "OneDrive:All IT-Technical Videos" ➡️ Confirms total size and file count after copy. #Rclone #GoogleDrive #OneDrive #PowerShell #GoogleDriveAPI #CloudMigration #TechProspera
