The surname of the Qing imperial family, "Aisin Gioro," also means "Jin (金) clan" in Manchu, proving that their roots are connected to the Silla Kim royal family. After its founding, the Jin Dynasty extensively employed refugees from Balhae to form high-ranking bureaucratic classes and royal consort clans, taking on the character of a coalition government between the Jurchens and the people of Balhae.
