Special Attaching Procedure for Front Bolster in puukko knife making
With this video I will show you a procedure that helps you to attach front bolster into the scandi rat tail (also hidden tang) in a new way at least to me, without too many drillings and filing with micro files. I learnt this method from Finnish knife maker Tapio Syrjälä http://tsyrjala.blogspot.fi/. It's there in facebook/puukkoareena showed in pictures. Unfortunately you need finnish knowledge to follow the procedure over there. Perhaps? i don't know who invented nor procedured this. Anyway, with Tapio's permission I will show now the procedure here in Youtube in a way I have understood those pictures. Anyone with better knowledge please correct if you can do it otherwise. I have now followed this information on my puukko knife works maybe five times and it looks good to me. Thank you Tapio for your skills and never stop enjoying seeing your works. This knife will be finished in Germany at Bushcraft Akademie meeting later in this year; handle shape. (Near future). Hope you could wittness it there?
