Artisans Reveal the Real Reason | News18 Odia A major controversy and curiosity arose among millions of Jagannath devotees after the Holy Trinity's sacred Pahandi ritual took place without the grand traditional 'Tahia' (decorative headgear). To clear the air, the official Tahia craftsmen and servitors have stepped forward to reveal the real technical reason behind this unprecedented development. 🚨 The Real Reason Revealed by Artisans: • Torrential Rain Destruction: While carrying the heavy Tahia from the Matha to Goddess Lakshmi’s Jagamohana, the structure was completely caught in a heavy downpour. As per strict age-old traditions, the sacred Tahia cannot be covered with an umbrella or cloths during transit. • The 45-Minute Delay: The waterlogged Tahia was kept waiting at the Sata Pahacha (Seven Steps) for nearly 40 to 45 minutes, causing the delicate sponge wood (Sola), glue, and flowers to completely melt away and fall off. • Shri Anga Protection: Once the decorative elements melted, the sharp wooden bamboo frames and sticks inside the Tahia got exposed. Carrying the deities with these sharp protruding sticks could have severely injured the soft wooden idols (Shri Anga) of the deities.
