TOPIC SUGGESTIONS: https://forms.gle/3eVVm9X5tbqYvgwo7 Follow me on all the things! https://linktr.ee/TTISLP In this video, I’m responding to Reddit comments about masking, unmasking, and the very real tension between burnout and safety. For many late-diagnosed neurodivergent people, masking can be exhausting, but unmasking can also feel risky depending on the setting, the people around you, and how visible your differences are. I talk through why this is not a simple “just be yourself” situation, and why context matters when it comes to authenticity, boundaries, and survival. We also get into how repeated rejection, people-pleasing, and fawning can make it harder to trust yourself and figure out what actually feels safe. This is not about forcing unmasking or pretending masking is harmless. It’s about asking a harder question: how do you protect yourself without disappearing?
