Lattafa Rave Now Women (Rave Now Pink) Fragrance Review: Toasted Marshmallow Bliss for $20

I recently picked up Rave Now by Lattafa, a women’s fragrance sometimes called Rave Now Pink, at Burlington Coat Factory for just $20 for a 100ml bottle. The price was a steal, and I was excited to dive into this one, despite its rather gaudy pink bottle that, frankly, I find eight kinds of ugly. The packaging, though, has a nice textured feel, and Lattafa always puts effort into their presentation. Still, the bottle’s design feels like something you’d hide away—it’s not exactly purse-friendly or visually appealing. But I was hopeful the scent itself would redeem it, especially since it’s had time to mature since its June 2024 production. Spraying it for the first time, I was hit with a vibrant opening of red fruits and orange. It’s super fruity with a slightly bitter, rindy citrus edge that feels fresh and lively, though not overly sweet like candy. On paper, it’s pleasant, but on my skin, the citrus leans a bit more bitter, which gives it a mature vibe without feeling “old ladyish.” The top notes fade fast, though—within 15 to 20 minutes, they’re pretty much gone. That’s not a dealbreaker, but if you fall in love with the opening at the store, just know it won’t stick around long. What really caught my attention was how different it felt from what I expected based on the listed notes of marshmallow, jasmine, and vanilla. As it dries down, Rave Now transforms into something truly unique. The middle and base notes—marshmallow, vanilla, and musk—take over, and what I get is this incredible toasted marshmallow vibe. It’s not like a plain bag of marshmallows; it’s more like the rich, warm scent of marshmallows roasted for s’mores. The florals, like jasmine and lily of the valley, are there but super subtle, so if you’re after a floral fragrance, this isn’t it. Instead, it’s a gourmand dream, sweet and cozy without being cloying. I love how the vanilla and musk blend with that toasted marshmallow note—it’s distinctive and not something I’ve smelled in many other fragrances. This fragrance feels perfect for fall or winter, as its gourmand warmth might be a bit much for spring or summer. It’s not the most office-friendly scent—food-like fragrances can turn heads or distract—but it could work depending on your workplace and personality. I’d say it suits a wide age range, though it might feel a touch mature for teenagers despite the budget-friendly price. At $20 for an EDP concentration and 100ml, it’s a fantastic value, and my wife loves it too, which is a bonus. The atomizer’s a bit annoying, spraying onto the bottle and making it look messy, but that’s a minor gripe. Overall, Rave Now is a smooth, feminine, and surprisingly sophisticated fragrance that punches way above its price point, even if the bottle’s a total eyesore.
