Some residents of Niscemi, a municipality in the province of Caltanissetta threatened by a massive landslide, gathered in front of the town hall to express their disappointment and anger. "Shame on you and get lost!" residents shouted at a councilor, calling on political authorities for more support. "Why don't they just kill us all?" a woman cried in despair in front of the town hall. Like her, many others feel abandoned by the authorities. Some have been left homeless, some struggle to even heat a glass of milk, and some no longer know how to get to work after the main roads were blocked. They all share one feeling: loneliness and fear for the uncertainty of the future.
