The Ferreira de Pantón monastery, in its eight centuries of history, was never abandoned. It is the only one in the Ribeira Sacra region that still keeps the Cistercian spirit alive. Behind these impenetrable walls lives a small community of Bernardine nuns, a contemplative order following the Rule of Saint Benedict: Here they lead a life dedicated to prayer and work.
