Travel Day – Korat to Buriram by Train

After three nights in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima), it’s time to hit the rails again. In this Thai travel day vlog, I take the local train from Korat to Buriram — a city I know nothing about, but thought I’d give it a go. Why not? The train journey cost just 24 baht (about 55p) and took two hours. This wasn’t some sleek express either — this was a proper local Thai train, sweaty, no air-con, and full of character. But that’s what makes it fun. Mostly. Along the way, I deal with steep steps, sticky seats, broken windows, and a kind local who helps me move to a spot with actual airflow. There’s also a bit of trainspotting, some sweaty running chat, and the joy of arriving in a town you’ve never heard of… only to exit the wrong side of the station. Once in Buriram, I check into P Hostel – £10 a night for a clean, quiet room in what turns out to be a gated little complex. Honestly, it’s a great little base, especially with decent Wi-Fi and a balcony to myself. This video is real-time backpacking: no script, no plan, just honest travel on a tight budget. I am an older backpacker travelling the world proving that backpacking is not just for the younger generation.
