Bertsy (also known as bertsy) are high, lace-up combat boots used by the Russian army. They replaced the famous soldier's boots, which had served Russian soldiers faithfully for decades. The main difference between bertsy and boots is their flexibility and simultaneous ankle support, which protects ligaments from sprains. The name "bertsy" comes from the shinbone (tibia), which they protect.
