Ministry of Defense: “Heroes' Charge” – A Large-Scale Operation to Secure the Deserts of Najaf, Karbala, and Anbar Based on the directives of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, the Ministry of Defense launched Operation “Heroes' Charge,” aimed at clearing and securing the desert areas in the governorates of Najaf, Karbala, and Anbar, and preventing their exploitation by terrorist elements. The operation commenced in the early morning hours, with the participation of the 1st Special Forces Division, including elite airborne units, supporting the Karbala Operations Command and other supporting formations. The Army Aviation and Air Force also participated, and significant intelligence efforts contributed to defining the operation's axes and objectives. The operation involved a high-quality airborne landing by elite forces from the 1st Special Forces Division, operating within the Karbala Operations Command sector at the Medisis Airport. This was supported directly by Army Aviation and the Air Force, contributing to enhanced field deployment and increased combat readiness. The elite forces demonstrated a high level of preparedness and demonstrated advanced special forces maneuverability and execution capabilities in airborne operations. The operation was conducted under the supervision and monitoring of the Karbala Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Ali Ghazi al-Hashemi, the 1st Special Forces Division Commander, Major General Ghalib Muhammad Kamar, and the Director of Media and Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defense, Major General Tahsin Ibrahim al-Khafaji, along with several commanders of participating formations. During the operation, which will continue to achieve its objectives through search, inspection, and reconnaissance missions across all desert axes, within a well-defined field plan and with continuous intelligence support, the forces aim to secure the designated areas within the operational sector, enhance security and stability, pursue remnants of terrorism, and eliminate their sources of movement. #IraqiArmy
