This is an Australian documentary focused on the French Légion étrangère (Foreign Legion) released in 1991. Every year more than 5,000 misfits from all over the world arrive in France to join the Foreign Legion. They are seeking redemption and a new identity — the Legion promises all. For more than 150 years the Legion has been shrouded in mythology. The Legion appeals to something deep and mysterious in the psyche of men.
