水野英子先生講演会　～トキワ荘とマンガ文化～

We have released a video of the lecture by Ms. Eiko Mizuno, held on July 11th (Saturday) and hosted by the Toshima branch. We heard many valuable stories about her creative activities to date, her works, and her life at Tokiwa-so! Inspired by Osamu Tezuka's manga, she aspired to become a manga artist. Debuted in 1955 with "Shōjo Club". Moved into Tokiwa-so in 1958. Collaborated with Shotaro Ishinomori (later Ishinomori) and Fujio Akatsuka under the name "U-Maia". Mizuno was the only female manga artist to reside at Tokiwa-so, earning her the nickname "the only woman at Tokiwa-so." Her representative works include "Hoshi no Tategoto," "Shiroi Troika," and "Fire!" In March 2026, she published her autobiography, "Mizuno Eiko's Wonderful Adventures."
