Summer Stories: An Extraordinary Conversion
Summer Stories Big Idea of the Series: This four-week series explores the lives of four people who had profound, life-changing encounters with Jesus. We will connect their stories to people we know in our own congregations and other modern-day individuals who have had similar experiences. This Week: An Extraordinary Conversion This Sunday we complete our series “Summer Stories: Testimonies of Radical Change” as we consider an episode in the lives of two very wealthy but very different men. They are recorded in the 18th and 19th chapters of Luke’s gospel. Both were sons of Abraham. One was righteous, religious and respected. The other was reviled. One sought to inherit eternal life while the other, named Zacchaeus, climbed a tree seeking to identify the King. Both received an introduction to a radically changed life by way of simple yet startling invitations from Christ. The result was not the same for both. However, Christ proves that, either way, there’s tremendous potential in something so simple as an invitation.
