ESTACIÓN DE FRANCIA BARCELONA.

In 1926 Barcelona is in full transformation. The city was preparing for the Universal Exposition of 1929. It is in this context that the Francia station was built, the work of the engineer Andreu Muntaner and the architect Pedro Muguruza. Both joined their efforts to provide it with all the necessary elements to make it a modern, elegant station worthy of the first line that was to link Barcelona with France. Two units make up the France station: on the one hand, the ships; on the other, the lobby. A double metal and curved canopy extends over the twelve tracks and seven platforms, an example of the so-called iron architecture, which makes possible a double nave full of light and space.
