14 Down, 36 To Go: My 50 Books Before 50 Birthday Reality Check

Year one of my 50 Books Before 50 challenge is done. Fourteen books. Thirty-six to go. Two years left. The maths is not great. In this video I'm looking back at everything I read in year one of the challenge: the highlights, the surprises, the one book that very nearly ended the whole project, and being completely honest about whether fifty books before fifty is still a realistic prospect. 📚 Books covered: Something Wicked This Way Comes (Ray Bradbury) | All Quiet on the Western Front (Erich Maria Remarque) | Money (Martin Amis) | At Swim-Two-Birds (Flann O'Brien) | Dune (Frank Herbert) | The Gulag Archipelago (Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn) | And Then There Were None (Agatha Christie) | The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (Muriel Spark) | The Call of the Wild (Jack London) | The Man in the High Castle (Philip K. Dick) | The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood) | My Cousin Rachel (Daphne du Maurier) | The Count of Monte Cristo (Alexandre Dumas) | Blood Meridian (Cormac McCarthy) I'd love to know what you think — are you doing a reading challenge of your own? Let me know down in the comments. Thanks a million for watching. Take care.
