This video shows the arrival and departure of trains at JR Kobe Line (Tokaido Main Line) Sannomiya Station (weekend evening, around 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM). It includes Special Rapid, Rapid, and Local trains (all-stations), as well as the limited express trains "Super Hakuto" and "Hamakaze," a special limited express "Hamakaze," freight trains, the parallel Hankyu Railway, and Sanyo Railway trains that run to Hankyu Kobe Sannomiya Station. The special "Hamakaze" (bound for Osaka) operated during Golden Week was a 3-car train. The regular "Hamakaze" trains, one bound for Osaka and one bound for Toyooka, are shown. Both are 6-car trains. One "Super Hakuto" train bound for Osaka and one bound for Tottori are also shown. The Hankyu Kobe Line runs parallel to the JR platform (in front of the Osaka-bound platform), so you can see Hankyu trains coming and going at Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya Station, as well as Sanyo Electric Railway trains that run on the Kobe Rapid Transit Line to Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya Station, from the JR platform. (Sanyo Electric Railway trains stop on the Hankyu Kobe Line tracks in front of the JR Sannomiya Station platform for turnaround.) This video of JR Sannomiya Station also includes footage of the Hankyu and Sanyo Electric Railway trains running alongside it. JR Sannomiya Station has two island platforms and four tracks. Platforms 1 and 2 are for Osaka-bound trains, and platforms 3 and 4 are for Kobe-bound trains. Rapid and local trains use the inner platforms 2 and 3, while Special Rapid, Limited Express, and freight trains use the outer platforms 1 and 4. Rope-operated platform doors are installed on all platforms, and the ropes rise and fall each time a train arrives.
