The Mewar Kingdom under the leadership of Rana Sanga, had turned into one of the strongest powers of northern India. Therefore, the battle was one of the most decisive battles in Indian history, even more so than the First Battle of Panipat, as the defeat of Rana Sanga was a watershed event in the Mughal conquest of northern India.
